Biography

Carlos is a freelance writer, essayist, and gallows humorist. He is currently hip deep in the next installment of the Coureur des Bois series and furiously pecking away at the keyboard when not distracted by his day job in a heavily fortified compound in an undisclosed location.

Be forewarned, a career spent in war zones and surrounded by human misery has given him an appreciation for dark humor and the grotesque that frequently comes to the surface in his writing. Which is to say, Carlos is not always appropriate for polite company. Best Practices advises close supervision around power tools, authority, and ladders.

His last words will most likely be, "Y'all watch this."

How the hell do you pronounce your name and what is its origin?
Second part first. “Cunha” is a Portuguese name. One side of my family is from Portugal, and I am the first generation born in the United States. The origins of the other side of the family have been lost to time.
So, is English your second language?
Kind of, sort of. Growing up, English was definitely my primary language, but I had plenty of relatives who did not speak English. I had to speak Portuguese to communicate with them. Sadly, they are all gone now, and my Portuguese is the poorer for it.
