Carole Marshall was a columnist for the Peninsula Daily News and has written features and cover stories for American Profile magazine--two of which were selected for the 2007 HarperCollins anthology Hometown Heroes. In addition to writing, Carole is a nature and pet photographer and spent many years working in the health and fitness field. Born in the Bronx, she lives in Port Townsend, Washington with her husband Jim (son of the late Jay Marshall, former dean of American Magicians and proprietor of Magic Inc). DEAREST is her debut novel.
In this touchingly weird and wonderful story, veterinarian Amelia Payne is unwillingly drawn into the carnival world of her youth, where she not only finds her missing charm bracelet--a family heirloom that spells out D E A R E S T in gemstones--but is reunited with Maize the Clown, the mother who abandoned her.
