Carrie Elks

I’ve been writing stories ever since I was a child. Back then I used to read series such as “Sweet Valley High” and “Sweet Dreams” and write short stories based on the characters. It’s only recently that I realized I’d been writing fanfiction. As I got into my late teens I think I started writing about twenty different novels, but failed to finish any of them. I took a break during my twenties, and then took up writing again in the past couple of years. Since then I’ve been writing non-stop, both in the fanfiction world as well as original fiction.

I like characters with flaws. I love to read and write stories where the main characters have issues in the past that they are trying to overcome. They aren’t perfect, and they make lots of mistakes, but they develop as people, finding redemption in their growth. That’s so much more interesting to me than reading about perfect characters.
