Casey Dawes

Casey Dawes believes in an eclectic life. She has to--she lives one! She's a business coach, romance author, quilter and life long learner. She also enjoys wine tasting in Central California, although it's a bit harder to get there these days.

She lives with her husband on the banks of the Clark Fork River in Missoula. They are owned by two cats.

Smashwords Interview

Describe your desk
My desk is wherever I am, although I do have a "woman cave" where I spend most of my days. It's a huge space and my desk, actually computer table, file cabinet, and traditional desk, are at one end. I have a great view of the Clark Fork River from my window.

The furniture was new once, and like me, it's become worn and stained over time. I have a few treasures, mugs full of pens, paint brushes (I went through a water color period), and quilting supplies. One of my favorite things is a pair of speakers my DH gave me for Christmas one year. I love to blast my various stations from Pandora.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on the East Coast, first in New Jersey, then in Massachusetts, and back to New Jersey. Because we moved a lot, and I'm an introvert, I spent a lot of time by myself lost in fictional worlds. When I finally got around to making friends, it seemed like we moved again.

Since I've grown up, I've added five more states to the domicile list and done a lot of traveling. I've met lots of different people with different problems, dreams, and points of view. I draw on this rich treasure when I sit down and write.
