I was intrigued when I saw the one star review from Mara Novick, especially when I saw that the review was given on the same day that the book was purchased. Even for a very fast reader as myself, a review on the same day? And one so pointedly negative? It caught my attention. Because of that, I looked around on this and other sites and found some very favorable reviews on this author, that led me to come back and purchase this book. And I'm so very glad that I did. To the reviewer's point, yes there are some instances of grammatical errors. However, rather than detract or distract, they seem to simply be part of the 'voice' of the story. Almost as though the author is writing in the same manner that he / she speaks And what a story it is!! The lead characters are both really strong, with depth and nuances that are hinted at and that play out throughout the story. The supporting characters aren't just window-dressing, but have a "feel" of their own, and make me hope that the author will consider 'spin-off' books focusing on them. The sex is graphic without being vulgar. The BDSM play is realistic (trust me on that -smile- ), rather than becoming either laughable or abusive. All of that being said, I'm glad I bought this book. I'm now on my second reading of it already, and am looking forward to the sequel. If Mara Novick's intent was to dissuade others from purchasing this book, I'm afraid she missed her target with me. To borrow from her, "Do better next time sugar" -smile-
