Catherine Vanmari

Biography

Cathie Vanmari was born in Yorkshire and emigrated to South Africa at a young age.

Always being a lover of food, as a child she was not a fussy eater, and to this day eats just about everything except carrots.
An only child, she constantly hung around the kitchens of various adult family members, some of whom were better cooks that others, but each had their speciality. She started cooking and experimenting with recipes at a very early age.
In 2002 she made her way to Neetesh’s heart via his stomach and they were married in 2003. They both love to cook, eat and entertain. A constant request in the Vanmari household is “Please may I cook?”

Neetesh is also very much a “Foodie” whose original food influences came largely from his extended Indian family and then from testing new restaurants.
The couple enjoy international travel, and wherever they go, the first stop is anywhere serving local food. Cathie has a gift in that she can list the ingredients purely by taste.
An accountant by profession, Cathie also owned and operated a Corporate Catering Business in Durban before relocating to Johannesburg. Today cooking is her favourite hobby.

I am modifying my original International Recipe Book to a Vegetarian version.
I am also working on a Financial Guide for Business Owners.

I particularly enjoy Nicci French - dead body page 1 for a fast read.
