I have always known I wanted to write from a young age. I used to write short stories in my school exercise books and circulate them for my friends to read. Life happened and I was distracted by university and then following a career. A few years ago, I began to feel the urge to write but the story was not clear in my mind.
I am a economic migrant in the UK and thoughts of family and my country of birth, Zimbabwe, made me feel homesick. The story of how the people of Zimbabwe have suffered a 34-year old dictatorship became the story I wanted to write about. It has a been a cathartic for me.
I hope readers will find my first novel speaks to them too.
