Cheyenne Nation

Biography

Cheyenne Nation grew up in the rural Midwest. As a child, she immersed herself in reading, and the love of stories eventually grew into writing stories of her own. She always saw stories as a way of seeing places and things that she may not otherwise get to see. For her, stories were an escape from boredom. Today, she makes up stories for her son and enjoys spending time with her family hiking, camping and riding bikes.

Smashwords Interview

Describe your desk
My desk is usually a catch-all. It seems I never have time to sit and go through stuff on a daily basis, so it piles up on my desk until I can't take it anymore. It used to be meticulously kept...but that was before I got married and had my son.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on a farm in the Midwest. I didn't have a lot of friends close by to play with, so I had to use my imagination a lot. I think this probably helped with my writing, because I remember writing stories as early as elementary school. In fact, one of my teachers still uses a story that I wrote as an example for her class. So, looking back, I would say that even though I hated living on a farm, it was probably a great thing for my writing career.
