Christine Wood

I am a 52 year old mother of four and a would be writer and avid fan-fiction writer. Love stories are my thing. I write because I have always wanted to, and I have always been and still am hampered by being a dyslexia sufferer. So if grammar is your forte, then please do not read on and leave a bad review telling people I am a bad writer and grammarist, when you were warned... I put the books up for a minimal amount because of this fact... leave a review either way because I'm interested in what you think...

Smashwords book reviews by Christine Wood

  • The Key is the Key on Dec. 25, 2013

A great first story though a tad hazy in places and Grammar issues good twist, read on to end where it all comes together, a few missing letters here and there but other than that a good read, keep writting!
  • So Much to Learn on Feb. 25, 2014

Loved this book, well written and loveable characters, couldn't put down and thought the end was a little bit of a let down hastily finished, hence the loss of one star, I felt like I needed to know a little more than the dear dad letter......
  • Eddie Langsett on March 28, 2014

I loved this book, but the teaser for the next one has me sad... when is it out please??? Its got a great deal of heartache in it and the two main characters have a plethora of emotional baggage, the will she won't she thing and the can he will he thing is sweet, one, so when is book two out and available?
  • Forever Seventeen on March 31, 2014

I can't understand how you got smash words published with no copyright announcement, no title page, the spaces between chapters was a pain! (That's a dig at Smashwords not you!) Story review.... This is a good story for teenagers... It is filled however with errors, the biggest one was the fan letter Dear Leslie, I thought she was called Sam, I had to re read in-case I missed something, and then there were lots of, probably, auto correct mistakes... renounced instead of world renowned... Simple grammatical errors, but the story was still actually okay if you ignored them! Your own preview needs spell checking... ( She's left not knowing quite where to go next in life until she sees a newcast that a massive boyband is holding auditions for their instrumental band... she's shocked at the outcome.) PERHAPS.... this would have been better? As she wonders what she is going to do with the rest of her life, after being cruelly excluded from school for finally hitting back at the bullies, a local news segment she is listening to, mentions that a well known boy band is holding auditions for a backing band. Perhaps this was what God had planned for her, the outcome of the audition leaves her stunned..... Sorry but you need someone to grammar check for you, ( As do I in my own books, being that I too am like your character, a hopeless dyslexic!) The story is sweet and has an inspirational message for anti bullying victims, that you should change your friends and get new ones or escape them all and start a fresh, she did and because of this Sam went from feeling like she was an ugly duckling changing into a swan! I did read to the end and decide three stars for the concept of the story...
  • Kiss of Fire on April 02, 2014

,loved the books and loved the story, didn't like the snippets of Czech language (I have Google translate or wouldn't have know what they were saying,) but that is the only bad thing in the series of books. I promise!!!. The first book, a freebie, had me hooked and I thoroughly loved the whole series awaiting the last one,
  • Eyes of Ember on April 02, 2014

Another good book in this series and well written (apart from not knowing the Czech words, and french!) A fantasy teenage romance with twists and turns bought them all so they cant be that bad you got me hooked with the freebie!
  • Scorched Treachery on April 02, 2014

Another book in the series that didn't disappoint how you come up with the twists and turns is great and I still needed Google translate for the Czech words sorry that is the only bugbear I have with the books the well thought out plot and the length of the books is great and an enjoyable read.
  • Soul of Flame on April 02, 2014

I can't begin to wonder where you come up with the plots and the twists and turns for these books? Whatever that place is you go to keep on going there... The story is great well written but yeah you guessed it, apart from the none translation of the Czech speeches and words... I loved this follow on and eagerly await book 5 and hope that book is as good as the others. well worth the read if your into fantasy and a good love story thrown in for good measure.

  • Kade's Game (The Sterling Shore Series 1.5) on Aug. 18, 2014

Loved reading about Kade's side of the story, though it was pretty much the same as Raya's I still loved the story as ever well written as is everything CM Owens writes I am eagerly awaiting Tagged and Ashed and hope Kade and Raya make an appearance again... This lady can go from the dark spaces of werewolves, vampires, fairies and Fae, to the good ole romance and poolside holiday reads like no other. I am one of her loyal and avid readers and can't wait for the follow ups on her other books, anything this lady writes is well worth the read.
