Cindy Matias

Biography

Hello, my name is Cindy Matias and as of today I am now a high school graduate. I've recently started writing short stories and poems after taking a creative writing class in English and so far I'm having a great time doing so. Like many writers out there, I use my writing as an outlet to the many thoughts and feeling I can't easily express to other living people. I hope you all enjoy my work. Please review and critique my writing. I would greatly appreciate constructive criticism so I can improve in the areas I still need to work on. Thank you and enjoy!

The Aches and Pains of Being Alone

I wanted to write something quick and not too complicated, so I wrote this short poem. This poem was actually inspired by a joke I made the other day and I came to realize, oh my god, I actually do feel like that a lot. My teenage years are coming to an end and hopefully my overly emotional hormones will calm down, but until then, I'll continue to write about my overly exaggerated feelings. Enjoy.
I Tried to Tell You but You Wouldn't Listen

This is a short story I wrote inspired by some of the things recently going on in my life and some of my thoughts. I recently had problems opening up to anyone and the whole situation was frustrating everyone. I talked to my doctor about it and she suggested therapy. That's where the whole idea of this story came from, even though I never got therapy myself. Enjoy.
The Catwitch

This is a short story I wrote of one of my own fictional characters, The Catwitch. In this story, she's an immortal witch with way too much time on her hands. She's a wicked little witch who entertains herself with the mortal civilians living in the city. When one of her creations puts the citizens in danger, she goes out of her way to make sure her source of "fun" isn't taken away. Enjoy.
Guide To God
Price: Free! Words: 880. Language: English. Published: March 9, 2014. Categories: Fiction » Humor & comedy » Satire

I wrote I satire on some of the things I believe are wrong in the religious community. As a kid I was lucky enough to escape the indoctrination of my family's religion and I was able to explore the world of science. Today, I love to write about my true thoughts on the topic. Please enjoy, and please don't take it in any offensive way. I wrote it for anyone to have a good laugh. Enjoy.
Dreams of a Society
Price: Free! Words: 310. Language: English. Published: March 7, 2014. Categories: Fiction » Poetry » American poetry

I wrote a short poem briefly touching over some issues I have with our society. These issues are mostly on my personal views but they're close to my heart and I strongly support them. I believe if people stop following and living such a "cookie cutter" lifestyle and mentality, they'll be able to see the world isn't so black and white. Life is complex and so are our problems. Enjoy.
Creepy Old Man

I wrote this poem from personal experience. There was a pedophile, a "creepy old man" in the family and no one wanted to say anything. He had been harming several girls in his family for generations. This whole situation frustrated me and all I wanted was for him to suffer and for those girls to get the justice they deserved. Enjoy.
In My Loving and Dire Admiration

I've recently started exploring the art of writing and I have to say, I'm having loads of fun with it. I myself have a hard time saying what's on my mind so what better way of doing so than by writing. This is a short poem I wrote about narcissism. Love is a great thing, and you have to to yourself before you can love anyone else, but some people take it way too far. I hope you enjoy.
