Clara Lederer

Biography

The life of Clara Lederer is a mystery to us. In 1954 she wrote the very important book Their Paths are Peace: The Story of Cleveland’s Cultural Gardens. The only photo we have of her is because she appears in the corner of a snippet of an image in the book (which thankfully was captioned). We also found that she was listed as being a frequent contributor to the journal Nineteenth-Century fiction. Otherwise we know nothing else about her. She might have been born around 1906/1907. We have no bio, other photo, or evidence that she wrote any other books. As the copyright wasn’t renewed the book fell into the public domain. The 65th anniversary edition presents the original content (with minor corrections) in a fresh layout.
