Clemens P. Suter

Clemens P. Suter is the author of adventure and action novels. Combining never-let-go writing, romance and humor, he has created highly entertaining books that take the readers to the end of the world... or beyond. Suter has been, amongst others, a lecturer, scientist, anatomist, marketeer and radiation officer. Married for 25+ years (unconventionally to the same wife), he has two sons and a black dog (which features in all of his novels).

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
In 2009. I remember one night at dinner, I turned to my wife and said "I am going to write a novel". I also remember the expression on her face; a mix of disbelieve and assent. The idea had suddenly popped into my head. Admittedly, many years before I had already attempted to write a novel, but at that time there were no PCs, and I hadn’t managed to get a decent amount of text to paper with my old typewriter…
It was one of the best decisions of my life. Writing turned out to be extremely rewarding for me as a human being. It is great to know that people, somewhere on the globe have actually read my stories – but the main thing is that writing allows me to express myself.
Who are your favorite authors?
My absolute favorite author is Jack Vance, the author of SciFi and fantasy novels. Alas, Jack died not so long ago, but over the years I have managed to collect practically all of his books and I keep re-reading them. For my second novel, Celeterra, I chose to name the hero Vance – as a reference to Jack.
