Smashwords Interview

Who are your favorite authors?
I haven't really got a favourite author. But what I do like is when an author either creates or describes a world or situation that though it may not be the norm seems plausible and so allows whatever occurs in the story being told to be believed. For that reason I enjoyed Thomas Mann the Magic Mountain as it appeared like life was lived at half speed and the inconsequential was all important there. I haven't really got time for those types of books normally though it definitely dealt with hierarchy, class and such, but really that bit at the end when he joins the rest in the first world war I thought was a good contrast. Of course I read it ages ago and most probably got it all wrong so i'll stick with my original statement: I haven't really got a favourite author.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Nothing inspires me to get out of bed each day, I do it because I have to earn a crust. Also I have had times when I lived a lazy life and all I found was laying in bed too long made me more lazy and a bit depressed.
But if on the other hand you are asking: When I have my free time to do what I wish what drives me? Well then the answer to that is just the desire to start and complete things. Thoughts and ideas come into my mind and for some reason or another I decide I must just express them any way I can, though of course once I start to do that, they then lead on to other things, that is why I have very rarely started something and ended up with precisely what I have envisaged. Also on those odd occasions in the past when I did I was always disappointed.
