Corey Moss grew up in West Valley City (also known as “Hunter”), Utah. He now lives in West Point near the Great Salt Lake, Utah with his wife, and their two boys.
As a teenager, Corey gained a love for learning about the arts and music that eventually led to a passion for creative writing.
Despite his love for writing, Corey graduated from high school. He drifted through different types of jobs, searching for his passion in life; he began a journey along a different path, going to a business trade school finishing with an associate’s degree in the Science of Paralegal Law, then some additional studies in Media Web and Video Productions, and Industrial Automation. Eventually, Corey realized that instead of finding a dream job, he needed to create one.
Drawing inspiration from his children, Corey finally followed a path that he was passionate about. It took him around 17 years to return to the beginning of the path to authorship.
Using the story of his last video project from his Media Web and Video Pro-duction studies as a springboard, Corey was optimistic for the future as he looked for a publisher to team up with. Much to his disappointment, all the publishers he approached turned down the opportunity to bring “The Last Christmas Prayer” into print.
Recognizing the need for a different approach, Corey decided to be his own publisher. He was not going to put off his dream of writing, even if he had to do it alone! Fortunately, he did not have to. The skilled Egyptian illustrator Hadeel M. Saleh soon joined Corey and shortly afterwards, Clark Hatch joined Corey's team to aid as editor.
Originally written in high school, Corey's Children's book “Would You Fear?” Although intended for young children, it has a humorous flare that also makes it fun for parents to read to their children. The delightful illustrations of H.M. Saleh added just the right touch to bring the story to life! Seriously. It is fantastic!
Using money from a loan to fund the printing, the story being freed from its shoebox prison as Corey's first published work "The last Christmas Prayer" online in November 2013. "Would You Fear?" printed in June of 2014.
The rest of the story is history... that is, history in the making! Corey hopes to have his second short story – this time for a young adult audience - Online to purchase before Halloween this year and is working on his first full-length novel.
With “Would You Fear?” not yet available in stores, Salt Lake Comic Con is your chance to get your own First Edition, Signed and Numbered copies of this classic short story!
