Cornelia Scott Cree

Biography

Cornelia Scott Cree has an Ivy League education, worked with prisoners and victims for 9 years, taught at community colleges, preached in prisons and at black churches then spent the past 49 years as missionary, both home missions as well as at her favorite overseas assignment, Northern China. She studied the Bible, first in multiple English translations and in the original Greek. Her best languages are Latin for vocabulary and etymology, French, and Chinese; she wrote her Master’s degree thesis on theological sign language. A stint as a print journalist for a scientific, business and tech newspaper gave her a solid foundation in deadline writing.

She has three grown children, three grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Except for those years spent in the foreign mission fields of China and the Philippines, in Texas and her youth in the Eastern USA she lived most of her adult life in North Carolina.
