Make no mistake about this book--it's a romance novel. I don't think I've ever read a real "romance novel" before. Although I don't think I can read any story that doesn't have at least a little romance in it and I usually want more. Still, to have a book be only about that... Wow, it's really not enough of a story for me.
I'm really, really annoyed by these characters who have all made a mess of their lives. Catherine's naiveté in chapter 14/15 particularly got to me, as did Sara's. And that's where I stopped reading. I do not think the writing is bad. I believe that as the book goes on, the characters will grow and realize their misguided thinking. But honestly, I have no interest in reading a story about that type of progression. I'd rather read a story about women that don't have to figure out all this stuff that I already know. Thus the frustration. I had to stop reading.
