Smashwords Interview

Thanks for being here today, Croix. I know you're busy. How about we start off by telling us about your first writing gig.
Cool, ya, ummm, that would have been when I started our class newspaper. It was around 2nd or 3rd grade. I called it the Lily Pad, cause our school was named Lily Lake. I wrote the articles and edited content. It was great interviewing people and I really found that I liked to write stuff. But the best part was smelling the pages as they came off the mimeo machine.
Mimeo machine? I don't know what that is. Anyway, when did you eventually sell your first story?
I think it was around 1969. My 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Martineau, gave me a quarter for story I wrote. I don't remember exactly what it was about but I'm guessing dinosaurs. I was into dinosaurs big-time back then. Then they got old. I went to Art's store after and bought some great candy with that quarter. It felt good to be paying my own way. I was getting tired of leeching off my parents.
