Smashwords Interview

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I enjoy the whole creative process of inventing a character and the world they inhabit and then letting my imagination run wild with whatever circumstances these scenarios present. I love flawed characters, I'm endlessly fascinated by what make the bad guys tick and I really like getting attached to the characters in other stories so I try to emulate that in my own tales. I also like to write twist endings to surprise the reader and draw them deeper into the story.
Who are your favorite authors?
I read "The Lord of the Rings" as a teen and it really caused a shift in my writing. I really adore writing medieval fantasy because of reading Tolkien. I like R.A. Salvatore's works as well. But as a young girl I read every Walter Farley and Sam Savitt book I could get my hands on and I still have a very soft spot in my heart for horse stories.
