D.J. Humphrey was born on March 7, 1960 in Pensicola, Florida. The second of four brothers, some of his rites of passage were gas rationing, a newly post Vietnam America, hand-me-down everythings, and 3 network television.
He was educated in the primary schools of Greenwood and Abbeville counties in South Carolina. He graduated from Dixie High School in Due West, SC where he spent most of his childhood. His secondary education includes drafting/illustration, Auctioneering, computer repair, counseling, instruction in software and the GED . His successful endeavors include owning and operating Coaches Choice After School Clubs for 1st through 6th grades and partnership in The Donald's Auction House. After contracting a debilitating form of arthritis he attended Lander University in Greenwood, SC where he graduated Cum Laude and receieved a Bachelor of Science in Education. He taught grade levels 3rd through 7th grades in Wilderness and Justice facilities for 6 years. He served 12 years in the Army Guard in the 111 Signal Batallion in South Carolina.
He is the father of one son and daughter and the grandfather of 2 grand children.
Jackson's Raiders And The Lost Confederat Gold is his first published work. Two other books remain to be published in this series. They are Jackson's Raiders And The Blood Curse Of Montezuma and Jackson's Raiders And The Chronicals Of Blackbeard. He has written several other unpublished works to include short stories, novelettes, picture books,and poetry.
