Dan Karr

After being hit by a car, Dan had massive medical bills that both medical and auto insurance companies refused to pay. In fact, his auto insurance company misquoted his medical records making it appear as if the injuries were not related to the accident. That was an experience that Dan strongly believes no one should have to go through. That's when Dan’s interest in helping people with insurance began. Dan is now paying forward his experience with insurance through Injured Money.

As a complement to his insurance experience, Dan brings to Injured Money 20 years of experience as a CEO or Vice President for high-technology companies. Knowing that the complexity of fighting insurance claims has the effect of intimidating consumers who are victims of insurance companies, Dan applies his marketing and sales experience to the benefit of all people who own insurance. Just like consumers of technology, consumers of insurance need easy-to-understand, complete guides on how to buy insurance that protects and what to do when an insurance company refuses to pay claims.

Dan lives in New Hampshire. Dan’s profession is as a marketing and sales consultant to technology companies. With Injured Money, Dan has dedicated himself to passing forward his knowledge of how to buy insurance that protects you and your loved one’s and what to do when your insurance company does not pay claims.

Smashwords Interview

Who are your favorite authors?
Starting with genres, I gravitate toward economics, history, law and interesting things about everyday life. Narrowing that down to authors, I enjoy many authors, but some that I read repeatedly include: James Clavell, John Grisham, Malcolm Gladwell and Bill O'Reilly. These authors have perfected telling stories in unique and captivating ways that I enjoy reading.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I wake up every day thinking about how I can help people find auto, home and health insurance that protects them. I know, you are thinking I must be a bit (maybe a lot) crazy, so let me explain further.

I began writing "Injured Money" for three reasons: 1) I knew I had unique knowledge about how to avoid, and how to extricate oneself, from messy insurance problems, 2) I knew I had a story that needed to be told. Everyone needs to understand how badly things can go wrong, even when a person is fully insured and 3) I had always planned to write a book, I just hadn't decided on the topic. After living through the story behind "Injured Money," I knew I had deep information about a topic people need to know about. That's how "injured Money" became my first book.

Once I began writing the book and researching the insurance industry, I began to realize there are many ways to help people that buy insurance, in addition to a book. Now that the first book is done, I am actively working on finding and creating as many ways to help people as I can. I love spending my days working on these ideas.
