Please, just call me Dan. I started out Daniel Parker Reed on my birth certificate when I was born in Wheeling, W.Va. I became Danny when I returned with my mom to our real home across the Ohio River in Martins Ferry, Ohio some five days later. In my early adult years at some point I became Dan and that's what I've been to everybody since. I had a few jobs in my Danny years: Delivered newspapers, sorted and stacked redeemed pop bottles, grocery store bagger and produce man, worked as a baker's helper, janitor and stock boy for a childrens' clothing store. Other jobs in my youth included restaurant dishwasher and fry cook, working in the fields gathering potatoes and clipping seed clusters off of onion stalks, and then I moved up to working in the produce packing houses. Somewhere in there I went door to door stenciling folk's addresses on their front curbs. After high school I tried my hand at selling encyclopedias door to door for a couple of weeks then worked at a riding stable taking people out into the desert on horseback rides. I sold shoes for a while and worked at several restaurants plying my cooking skills. All in all I had over 50 jobs during my over seventy-years of living including being a car salesman and selling classified advertising for a newspaper. I went to a school in Hollywood for radio and TV broadcasting stuff, worked in radio and television for some nine-years where I used the name Danny Dain when being a disc jockey and D. Parker Reed when being a newscaster and a TV weatherman. I've lived in five states and changed residences over 50 times also. Yeah, I've been around. Seen a few things. Done lots of stuff. I've been married to three women and bothered quite a few more from time to time. I wet the bed until I was 27-years old. I played guitar and sang lead for a Country Music band for over a decade. I worked as a handyman for a while then got a contractor's license in California and started a real handyman business with four employees. Eventually I flipped some houses and made enough money to retire. I've fathered four children and two of them are still alive. I even have a great granddaughter now. I drove a school bus for a while. Did a lot of other things that I probably shouldn't admit to; but I do in my memoirs anyway. If you need anymore information about me you oughta read my book.
