I was born in Norfolk, Virginia; moved to Boston as a child and later lived in Philadelphia as a teenager. In 1984 I entered the University of Virginia. After taking several business classes, I finally decided to become a Sociology major. I love people. Here, in the UVa gospel choir is where I met my wife, Tina in 1987. Now, we have six wonderful and fun children.
I started my cleaning business in 1990 and received the opportunity to become a lay minister in a local church. After working in retail for awhile, I took a job in an insurance company.
