Douglas Owen
Douglas Owen is a freelance writer, author, publisher, senior technical analyst and member of the IndyFest family. After writing manuals for many years he started to take his love of words through an infinite journey across the vastness of his imagination.
He currently has three published novels and a writing list longer than his proverbial arm. In 2012 he was approached to interview for Self-Publishing Magazine! and soon developed his column “The Written View” for the same. Big news happened in 2014 when the company requested Doug to take over the distribution of the digital magazine, and named him Circulation Director. The magazine took on new life in 2015 and became IndyFest Magazine to encompass all things by independent artists and small press publishers.
At the end of 2014, a long time friend handed over his small independent publishing company to Doug. Science Fiction and Fantasy Publications then took off and now, in its first full and active first year, is accepting submissions for their anthology series called Unbound as well as manuscripts for novels.
Doug, along with his wife Sheila and two cats named Murray and Samantha, call Stouffville Ontario home.
