  • Her Dark Destiny (Hunters of the Dark #1) on Oct. 27, 2011

“As some of you may have noticed, you are all in Hell.” So begins the story of Shanna Hunt’s transformation from working as a lone demon-hunter, to working alongside other specialized hunters, inside a secretive organization called ‘The Agency’. Shanna Hunt’s parents were killed by demons when she was a child, and she has been a hunter of demons, desperate for revenge, for two years before being recruited to The Agency. Hunters are being killed off at an alarming rate, and The Agency, headed by a woman named Valor, wants to know why and wants to stop it. Valor has put together a top-notch team of specialized hunters to accomplish this. I enjoyed this book. It was fast-paced, and packed with creative paranormal events and action as the hunters attempt to accomplish their mission. The author does a great job switching to different characters’ points of view throughout the book, without confusion and the result is an excellent job getting to know a little about each of the characters. I think we will probably get to know them better as the series moves on. We were left with some intrigue as to what would happen romantically with Shanna, and about her mysterious link with a woman called Diana. And who is Valor? What are her motives in The Agency? A great, fast read. Will definitely read Night Cries.
