Dr. Karin Wettig is a musicologist, author and Belcanto singer and wrote books about Classical Singing Technique. Her studio for Personality Styling in Munich, Germany, supports private persons and stage actors or singers to develop their full authentic capacities.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
My home town Cologne - Koeln - in central west Germany, is famous for their special humour and their carnival season. As a girl I danced in a dance group and had much fun. My childhood was filled with music and writing. I learnt accordeon, piano and organ. At school the teacher made me often read my writings to the whole class, but as a shy girl I didn't appreciate this so much.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing at school and was praised for my vivid fantasy. Later during my study time and my marriage I restarted writing. But only after my divorce, I found that writing short stories and poetry helped me a lot to release emotions.
“Masters really help when you ask and Angels work upon request!” was Karin's revelation after having written complaint letters for years to a famous Indian sage. An answer never came, but years later her life was saved miraculously and a personal messenger sent to her. In her spiritual journal she describes these experiences and her amazing intuitive insights about two modern American masters.
“Behind every weakness hides a talent!“ was Dr. Karin Wettig’s insight after she lost her speaking voice during her divorce. "Voice broken" she went for singing when nothing else helped. Her guide to vocal technique is no dry theory, but a book with exciting stories of famous singers and vocal teachers. With the practical part the reader can easily prove to himself how a natural powervoice works.
