Dr. T. K. Stone

Biography

This is a mind/body health book. I wrote it to share my childhood. I discovered other avenues for happiness for both my mind and my body. These avenues, which were not outside of my own experiences, were way different from what I was taught. At six years of age I witnessed what the power of prayer can do to change a physical problem. At nine I realized my parents didn't know what the word love meant and found an avenue to travel for more information on that subject. At eleven I decided to become a Catholic priest; a nun told me she married Jesus to experience love. At thirteen, just two weeks before going into a seminary, I decided not to go. At fourteen just after receiving an "F" grade in religion class, where I thought I would learn about love. I realized, I wasn't going to learn about love from priests, brothers or nuns.

Remembering an old saying from St. Thomas Aquinas, learned as an alter boy, "Test everything, retain what is good." I decided to love himself and I started to ask this question. "If I love myself, would I have this thought." In my later teenage years I added, "If I love myself, would I breathe, drink or eat this stuff."

Drafted into the Army in 1969, I again witnessed how powerful prayer is and surrendered to it completely, "Thy will be done." While training to be a combat medic and later with laboratory duties, the Army inspired me to become a dentist. I did very well in my doctorate program and was asked to be a professor. I also started a private practice. Later I specialized but with all that training, it still boils down to this. To be healthy in this world, reduce the mental conflicts and physical frictions, which define the stresses in our life; at the same time add, being conscious of the basic evolutionary needs for fresh air, energy rich and nutrient dense foods and clean water. A balanced life is for all of Earth's creatures. To be healthy, experience Nature's ways. Many of us are lost, surviving civilized today.

It's been said, "Every living being longs to be happy." Without good health, is happiness possible? Discover in this book Nature's health program. It has an old planetary definition, 3.5 billion years old.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and my generation saw southern California in an unique way in the 1950's and 1960's. As a child I loved running barefoot in the orange groves behind my house. In the 1950's I used to watch Jack La Lanne exercise on TV. He used to say, "Exercise is king, nutrition is queen, when you have both, you have a kingdom." My father was in the wholesale produce business and during my childhood I grew up eating the best fruits and vegetables available in California. Loved sports, football, basketball and baseball. I learned how to surf and snow ski during my teenage years. I still love to be outdoors playing with the activities I love. Being raised in southern California and being aware of a healthy lifestyle, my life reflects how much fun it is to be healthy and all the published articles and my ebook are about the benefits of a healthy life that anyone can create for themselves.
When did you first start writing?
English and spelling were my worst subjects. I have a hearing handicap from birth and was very slow to speak, read and write. Math and the sciences were easy for me and all I had to do is listen to the teacher to comprehend science, which my friends had trouble. Didn't plan to go to college but after my Army experience being a combat medic then dental technician, I was inspired to become a dentist. Knowing I had problems with English, I got an early out from the Army and took only one class at a local community college, it was English to prepare me for freshman composition. Had a great teacher and learned grammar and the use of a Thesaurus. My college career was successful because of that first class in English. When I became a professor is when it started to pay-off and have published several articles over the years on health related interests, which are all in my ebook.
