Short Story: Over The Line
on May 23, 2015
This is a fine story of love, service and sacrifice, and finding one's self. Mr. Parker served in Special Forces and OVER THE LINE is his metaphor for growth experienced on a recon operation in Vietnam. Mr. Parker posits a contrarian idea: military service promotes growth in self-awareness. Cultural blockage to see the regimen of military duty as a means for growth may prohibit some from getting this aspect of his story. However, t's is a good read with a perfect ending. He's having fun with it: see his Q&A (from his Author page) and why he paired some of Leonard Cohen's with OVER THE LINE.
