Ed Silva Jr (born June 16, 1987) is an American author of thriller novels, most notably the Richard Maxwell stories, The Imperfect Plan (2012), The Bitter Truth (2015), Jessica Cardelini (2016), and The Mad Scientist (2018).

His novels are treasure hunts set in a 48-hour period, and feature the recurring themes involving the International Police , keys, symbols, codes, Martial arts, chase scenes, and British conspiracy theories. His books have been translated into five languages, and as of 2016, he won an award for best mystery of the summer.

Silva's novels also includes historical themes, and political motifs, that have generated controversy. Silva states on his Instagram account that his books are not anti-government, though he is 'constantly searching for truths', and says that his book The Bitter Truth is simply an entertaining story that promotes discussion and political debate.

Early Life:
Ed Silva Jr was born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He has two younger brothers, Leonardo and Eduardo. His father brought him to the United States with hopes of giving him a better life in 1998. Silva attended public schools until the twelfth grade. He graduated High School in three years instead of four. Silva is fascinated with Science, Space exploration, and NASA. He started College, registered for Mechanical Engineering, but little by little, he is gaining interest in another career: Investigative Journalism.

Silva grew up watching Brazilian television, and he finds completely unfair how the Brazilian government operates. He discovered that through fiction, he could express his feelings without pointing his finger directly at the Brazilian President. One of the subplots to his second novel he wrote: Your little schemes have filled the people with false hope.

Silva's interest in secrets and puzzles stems from a television show called Prison Break. He was impressed how the show could always end with a cliff hanger. In addition, Silva has been quite vocal about a number of other literary influences who have inspired his writing. He is a fan of David Baldacci, Dan Brown, and Michael Connelly.

Silva have said that his wife, Luana, helped him connect his main characters with powerful chemistry, because he would always imagine themselves being the main characters. He lives in Georgia with his wife and family.
