Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I started writing as a teenager, mostly poetry. Most of my poetry was very dark. Sometime in my early adulthood I stopped writing poetry, went to college and started writing term papers. It wasn't until about eight years ago that I wrote the rough draft for my first story. Since I have wrote many rough drafts to many stories. As Snow Falls was my first story and it went through several revisions thanks to my family and friends and professional editing services. It remains my favorite story. Although I have many more stories and characters to publish.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The story behind my latest book is the snow. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay area we didn't have snow. As an adult I moved to the snow and loved watching it fall. I spent hours sometimes simply watching, amazed how the flakes would catch the light. I loved to drive in the mountains and was always in awe over the breathtaking sights. This prompted my thought process and a story began to emerge. Once I started writing it took on a life of its own.

Smashwords book reviews by Elle Klass

  • The Haunting of Jezebeth on Sep. 27, 2013

Short story but contained everything necessary to keep my eyes peeled to my kindle. Mystery, family secrets, and spooky. About a young girl who grows up with a more than odd family. Like all young women she wants a life for herself and is a bit of a rebel where her family is concerned but I don't want to give away the story. It was a fantastic read.
  • Abasteron House on Sep. 27, 2013

Another great short. I really love how the author can put so much into a story that takes me about 20 minutes to read and then I'm left wanting more. Grandfather has some strange habits and "friends" while Davida doesn't quite understand she is curious but sometimes things are better left not understood. Grandfathers "friends" aren't what they appear to be and I'll leave it at that.
  • Halls of Desolation on Sep. 28, 2013

I wasn't sure what to expect with this story and was more than pleasantly surprised. The story is action horror packed from the start. Creepy characters and vivid descriptions make this a worthy read. It's rather gory and not for someone with a weak stomach or prone to nightmares but any horror guru should check it out.
  • Nightwolves Coalition on Jan. 02, 2014

Nightwolves Coalition by Clarrissa Lee Moon is a paranormal erotica novel that is a little of both paranormal and erotica and is pleasingly the right amount of each and refreshingly not too much of either. The novel takes no time in jumping into the action and plot as Catrina Garcia a vampire, newly modified, finds herself in the clutches of terrorists on a passenger airliner where she must find a way to save the day. Both evil and benevolent forces spice the conspiracy as twists take the reader into a suspense filled story and at times an entirely different world. There is a very grounding sediment to the paranormal activity within the book that is quite compelling and utterly believable. The characters are three dimensional quality and the action and landscape unfold before the reader's eyes. Clarrissa Lee Moon truly uses the right amount of everything in her recipe for this book to create a novel about the age old dogma of vampires making it unique and exhilarating. Grade A awesome book!
  • Celeste Nites on Jan. 20, 2014

Celeste Nites by Clarrissa Lee Moon is an intriguing Vampire erotica novella. The exquisitely beautiful vampire Celeste unintentionally hijacks the affections of two rich, powerful, and sizzling hunk brothers Jacques and Armand. While Celeste is attempting to rid the world of her evil ex lover Jacques and Armond continue to waylay her plans as she is equally attracted to them. This novella is packed to the hilt with red-hot erotic scenes while maintaining a powerful plot. Now having read two of Clarrissa lee Moon's novels she has a true talent in illustrating with extreme detail erotic scenes while keeping the plot embedded and developing within her stories. There aren't too many authors who share this talent making her stories unique. Her words flow and transition easily from one page to the next which keeps the reader hooked and wanting more. Celeste Nites is a provocative and captivating must read novella.
  • Nightwolves on the Prowl on Feb. 17, 2014

Nightwolves on The Prowl by Clarrissa Lee Moon is an exciting sequel. Cat and the Nightwolves continue to fight hard against unknown obstacles as they save the world from certain doom. This saga is not your everyday run of the mill vampire series, but a rare treat. Cat, her mates, and family are demi gods in vampire form, and Clarrissa's creativity builds the imagination of new worlds, allowing the reader's mind to explore the possibilities. The sequel is as action packed and descriptive as Nightwolves Coalitition. Clarrissa brings in new blazing hot characters that tantalize the senses, mixing sizzling scenes with a strong plot that can only force the reader into wanting more. Each personna in the novel is carefully sculpted through dialogue and colorful depictions into a three dimensional being whom can be empathized with, hated, loved, and respected. I highly recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a well written novel with intrigue and suspense.
  • The Bleeding on June 02, 2014

The Bleeding by Max E. Stone is a story entailing how evil begets evil in the vicious cycle of abuse. young Derek is exposed to his mother’s ruthless beatings regularly by his own father and minister David. David dies a quick but horrible death and the cycle is born. The flow of this story introduces each character, giving only slight clues to how they all tie together. The plot was brilliant. Eventually, little by little each and every person becomes tied to one another and the secrets and blood begin to flow. Derek Warren becomes the sinister father of a legacy that preceded him and a daughter who struggles to keep her sanity; all the while lingering on the edge of reality. I found myself hooked immediately. An amazing novel with insight that seems could only come from first hand experience. I give Max. E. Stone a thumbs up. Absolutely loved it.
  • Nightwolves Siren's Song on Feb. 11, 2015

Nightwolves Siren’s Song (Memoirs of the Nightwolves Series) by Clarrissa Lee Moon was long anticipated for me. In this segment the war between good and evil is heating up to epic proportions. The Nightwolves are working harder than ever to keep the world from destruction and the takeover of vile evil creatures. There are so many intricate details woven into this amazing story which started with the construction of the Nightwolves; a group of supernatural beings and members of the US military. Catrina the protagonist isn’t an ordinary vampire. She is a goddess who uses magik. She is a strong willed woman who is tough as it gets. Her wardrobe consists of leather and boots. Her mates, all three or six of them, are deliciously hot but she has no time to enjoy them. With the war heating up members of the Nightwolves are spread across the globe and beyond. Her children are facing incredible odds as one has begun a journey to find his soul mate. Another has been cursed. And Cat’s mother makes a nasty appearance. As with Clarrissa’s other books her characters and plot are well developed. She paints each scene with vivid detail and explanation of her (Cat’s) beliefs and true legends the book loosely follows. This is not an ordinary vampire saga. If you are looking for supernatural that doesn’t fit the mold than look no further. Excellent series, waiting for book 4!
  • Star Trails Compendium on May 13, 2015

I love science so much that I’ve designated my career to teaching it in the public schools. I discovered Marcha Fox about a year ago and have been a fan since. I’ve read the Star Trails Tetralogy and found the science so sound that her stories are very plausible. They are fiction but she leaves the “what if” doors wide open for one’s imagination. The Compendium is a fantastic guide for the entire Star Trails enthusiast. It includes a glossary, wish I’d had it on hand when I read the books the first time. She includes maps, star facts, a Cyrarian Calmanac, character descriptions and more! She also includes a section for teachers to work elements of the series into their lesson plans with great fantastic high level questions and explanations for each book and each chapter such as, “What do you think it would be like to be in a black hole?” In the series a black hole is used as a prison. Or, “What are some of the reasons that the habitable planets in an intergalactic society would employ space stations as points of entry?” Good brain questions. The type that get students synapses firing! She includes her website which has an entire parents and educators page. For sci-fi fans, teachers, students, parents the Star Trails Tetralogy and Compendium are a must read!
  • The Sapphiran Agenda on Sep. 12, 2015

The Sapphiran Agenda is Thyron’s story. Thyron is an intelligent mobile plant. He communicates with others through psi waves and implanting pictures or words into the heads of other beings. He’s a very cool plant. This story is a spin-off from the Star Trails Tetralogy. Thyron is first introduced in Beyind the Hidden Sky the first book in the series. The Sapphiran Agenda is the situation we meet him in the series but from his point of view. I loved the subtle comedy and the development of Thyron’s character. March Fox brings his personality to life. He is a lovable character who has his own agenda in the little adventure that takes him to another planet where he meets Creena. I won’t give away any spoilers. It’s a book that needs to be read. I’ll admit its suspenseful! I read it while travelling on vacation and couldn’t put it down until I finished it! The author has a way of bringing the reader into the sci-fi world she created and placing them into the story. The science is plausible. As a science teacher I dig that. I’ve been turned off by sci-fi that isn’t realistic. Her books are credible adding to the believability and creativity of the story. She gives plenty of background while at the same time building the plot. As one of my favorite authors I wait for her to release another book related to the series.
  • The Diamond Isles on March 06, 2016

The Diamond Isles is a cool fantasy tale set in a made up land; a warm valley perfect for its inhabitants - dragons. To the south of the valley is a cold region where none go. The dragons have their own society and culture. Their lives are interrupted when feathered dragons called Anjyls and humans. They run the dragons from their home, forcing them into the mountains and cold. I love the author’s imagination in creating these creatures and their home. There is enough detail to imagine the placer really exists. She builds their characters enough to imagine them human yet always adds witty descriptions reminding the readers the readers they are dragons. I enjoy a carefully woven fantasy tale and S. Cu’Anam Policar did just that. This is a book safe for all ages of fantasy lovers.
