When did you start writing?
I've been told I've been writing since I was eight. I've always loved inventing worlds and people, writing about societies and cultures and species. I started my first serious adventure novel at the age of twelve, and the plot and characters have just evolved over the years as I grew and learned more about the world around me. I have been obsessed with writing since I was a kid and I don't intend to stop.
What's your inspiration?
You know how people talk about kids being sponges for knowledge? I don't think I ever outgrew that. Every book I read, I file away the bits of it that I enjoyed, the bits that made my heart ache with emotion, and I try to put them into what I write. Not word-for-word, but the feeling, the style, the manner in which it's presented. I draw inspiration from everyone and everything. Sometimes I look at photos and make up stories around the subjects, because there's a story to everything, and I want to share as many as I can. My inspiration is anything I can get my hands on.
