Michael Arnold
Biography
Hi! My name is Michael Arnold. I live in the small, boring town of Gastonia, North Carolina, located fifteen minutes from Charlotte, North Carolina. There is more excitement in Charlotte, so I cannot complain about my boring town of Gastonia, right? I assist my mother, who is blind and has been blind all of her life. However, for some odd reason, she helps me just as much as I help her. My mother would often say: "Hi Michael! I cooked chicken and I made sure I cooked enough for you!" "Thanks mom!" I would reply.
I love writing. I have been writing since 2004. I'm still learning how to become a better writer daily. Stephen King is my favorite author, although I have never written any horror short stories. I enjoy reading his work because he knows how to tell a story.
I chose “Smashwords” because I believe Mark Coker has provided an opportunity for unknown authors to post books online. This is absolutely splendid! I have posted a few books online. Please read them when you have the time. My promise is that you would not regret that decision.
I love to read and write. Fortunately, I have a few books to share. I do it because of the love I have for writing. “Smashwords” has provided the opportunity to share what began as “sketchy” thoughts, to the development of a complete short story or novel for your enjoyment. Thanks to all who have taken the time to view this page, download my samples, books, and short stories .
Smashwords Interview
Hello I'm Matthew Anderson and I'd like to thank you for sharing a little of your time so that I can conduct this interview with you.
Oh not a problem I thank you sir for having me.
What's the story behind your latest book?
That's a great question Mr. Anderson. I had a friend who I visit and to keep it short, well my friend has a dog and a cat and I seen something that I never seen before, this dog and cat were friends playing and jumping around one minute and then the next minute they were battling with the cat driving the dog back to his kennel.
I told my friend that it would make a good story the life and times of a cat and dog. But of course the story changed a lot once I begin writing it but that was the foundation of where the story came from.

The Mango Tree and Other Stories
on Jan. 03, 2014
This is one of the four books I read today. One thing that is evident is this writer loves plants and trees. Over all these short stories were good and it tells a lesson but what I like about the lesson is that they are positive, good book.

A Dork Named Dodson: The Diabolical Gym Challenge
on Jan. 03, 2014
I read this book today at work and honestly I really like this story, it was much better than I thought. I don't know where the author is going with this story of Dodson but I think it could go along way!!

Inside the Bear's Lair
on Jan. 03, 2014
Not the best story I have read and not the worst. The words in the story was bunch together, I think with a little formatting the story as a whole would have been a little better but over all not a bad story!

Dying To Be With You
on Jan. 08, 2014
With so many authors writing about Zombies you would think that there is nothing else to write about! I thought this short story was different. I thought the author should have explain how Nickolas became a zombie.
The stories moved very quickly but with short stories there still should be no gaps or question that needs to be answer overall I thought the story wasn't bad.

Old Ways
on July 29, 2014
I thought this book was decent, it read like a poem, the characters worked well in the story to get the writer's intent across to the reader.

Untruths
on July 29, 2014
Overall I think this story should have been a novel, there are a few questioned that needed to be answered like how was the daughter kidnapped, why wasn't the police called, what happens to Brandon and Angela, how was she able to get in contact with her mother?
A second book in a novel form could really boost this story.

Do You Know How Very Much God Loves You?
on July 30, 2014
This children book although short and just right for very young kids, adults can relate to this story, I like it and I will be reading it to my seven year old this weekend!!

You Don't Belong Here
on July 30, 2014
I thought this story started out well then then begin to decline. I think if it would have had some type of positive ending like someone outside the church telling her how much she cared and love the lady with the love of God, or one of the pew members showing this lady some type of love or care I believe it would have been a lot better but overall not a bad story!
