If you only get to read one book this year... Let it be this one! Cathy has put together the perfect ratio of romance, suspicion, fear and anticipation! We follow Anna Nolan on a wild journey in her otherwise quite quiet life. (She's had a few hiccups in the past, but who hasn't?!) Anna lives in a quiet small town that's about to have a good story to tell. I fell in love with the elderly characters in this story! Such sweet older women, full of life, they drew you in! The men in this town all seem quite respectful. Something that's lacking in my town! This story opens in a cemetery. With a drunk. And a ghost. Don't turn away! I'm glad I didn't! You get to meet Sherman, the Grounds Keeper with a secret. I fell in love with him! His family issues are well known around town. He can't run from them. So he drinks. You really feel for this guy. Next you meet Anna, she loves pretty much alone. Her son comes home from school on the weekends and she's got a great dog, but her love interest lives quite far away. Then you meet several others; an intriguing brother/sister couple who are wrapped up in all things supernatural, a couple of old ladies who are just too perfect! The local police. A few nosy neighbors... And a ghost! Really, this book was hard to put down. I'd recommend it, highly. I found myself anticipating the next move. I even got goosebumps a couple of times! The ending was quite unexpected. As you feel like you've got this all wrapped up, Spencer throws in a surprise. This is a great read. Go download it to your library. You'll finish it in a weekend, I'm sure!
