Tom Poland

Biography

Tom Poland’s work has appeared in magazines, books, and online journals throughout the United States. He’s published five books and more than 600 magazine features. Forbidden Island, his novel, was published in 2007.

His book, Reflections of South Carolina, is in its third printing. The University of South Carolina Press will release Bury My Heart At Ocean Drive, how the blues became beach music and the shag phenomenon, in the spring of 2012.

Solid Ground, his first play, is being staged by Swamp Gravy, the community theater in Colquitt, Georgia, that is home to Georgia’s Folk Life Drama. It was staged in October 2011 and will be staged again in March 2012.

A Southern writer, author, and Lincolnton, Georgia native, he lives in Columbia, South Carolina. He’s a graduate of the University of Georgia.
