Fresno Parker

I grew up in the Great Basin country of Northern Nevada. I read a lot of books growing up. I wish I had the time now to read as much as I did back then. My passion for reading has helped shape me into the person I am today and even though I have traveled widely, I value the discoveries I have made within the pages of books above all else.

I am fascinated by world history and cultural uniqueness, but I am equally interested in how we all fit together as a people, past and present. My first novel, Oskar's Garden, originally started out as a journey to learn more about my Polish heritage.

I have been lucky enough to see some of the world because of my "day job", and I am often inspired by the people and cultures I have witnessed. I hope my writing reflects this inspiration.

  • My Muse on Feb. 12, 2013

I found myself thinking, "Hey, that's me," or "I know that feeling" and that's how I knew that Christopher had hit the mark. Not every time, but on most. Christopher's 'My muse' resonated with me. It reminded me of some of those tumultous, volcanic times I've had in my own life on my own voyage of discovering where I fit into the world. I really liked "Hallowed Hall's", and I'm pretty sure I've seen a few "Amber sunsets" as well. My Muse is worth the read. Be prepared to be reflective, and I guess that's why people read and write poetry--to find that common ground we all tread deep inside.
