The Falconry, A Short Story on April 02, 2014

This is a great little gem of a story. The very first one I read when I became a member of Scribophile, a great forum for writers of all genres. Reading the Falconry, I became enmeshed in the story right from the beginning,and although it has a brilliant ending it is one of those stories you hate to see end. Just from reading this short story I believe I can make a equitable assessment that Castillo is a seasoned scribe. Her prose hooks you very early in the story and keeps you dangling until the end. I look forward to reading more of her work. As a writer myself, I take respites and read other author's work. Some get it and some do not. Castillo obviously gets it as evident in her writing.
