George Crenshaw

Biography

George Crenshaw created Belvedere over 40 years ago and the cartoon has been in syndication ever since. Among his other accomplishments, Crenshaw was employed at Walt Disney’s animation studios and worked on such classics as Fantasia, Pinocchio and the Donald Duck shorts. He also worked at MGM on the Tom and Jerry cartoons. He drew several comic books for Dell Comics featuring such characters as Woody Woodpecker and other popular cartoons. He was a ghost cartoonist for Hank Ketcham on the Dennis the Menace series. His gag cartoons have sold to most major magazines and he has created numerous syndicated comics, of which Belvedere was the most popular.
