Georgia Carter Mathers
I study publishing, writing, and everything in between. Altogether, I hold an Associate Degree in Creative Writing from Southern Cross University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New England, and a Graduate Certificate in Publishing at Sydney University at the moment. In the past, I’ve worked as a legal secretary, receptionist, and administration officer. I have a feeling that after I’ve finished the graduate certificate, I’ll probably enroll in something else. I can’t help myself. I’m a perpetual student.
I was born in Sydney, Australia, and I’ve lived here all my life. I’ll be forty-five this year. Yes, I’ll be pushing fifty soon.
I’m a full-time caregiver to my mom, who lives with a debilitating disease called Neurofibromatosis. My wonderful husband also lives with Schizophrenia, but most of the time, he looks after me because I get so busy. He brings me coffee, makes me eat when I forget, and he encourages me. My son, who is nearly an adult, keeps me busy too. These three people are my life. Though, I might spend long hours working, everything I do is for them.
My hobbies include the obvious reading and writing, but I also love music, particularly the music of the ‘80s and ‘90s. I like to drive around with it blaring out the windows. I get all sorts of looks. I read a lot of paranormal romance, but I also read literary fiction, academic material, memoir and biography, and for some reason, I have a lot of business books. My next favorite thing to do is to eat out and see a movie. When I get time, I love to cook my clan a chocolate cake.
