How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Exposure. It puts my book in many venues at one time.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The nineteen sixties. I lived through that decade and it was insane. The country was being torn apart on many levels while at the same, world wide, it may have been our greatest decade for creativity. I tried to show America on three levels. There was the alienation created by the Draft. There were the emotional scars on us created by well meaning parents who were never treated for the psychological problems seared into them by World War II, and there was the racial unrest that was tearing our cities apart. The book focuses on the first two and touches on the third item in the form of exposing the imbedded racism that our parents had. With that backdrop, I presented a love story that crosses cultural barriers and the tension is created by an untreated mentally ill person who wreaks havoc on innocent people. Its a book about ordinary people in extraordinary times.
