Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an indie author?
Although my practical side won out in college and I majored in International Economics, my creative side has always carried significant weight with me. Writing became that creative outlet. I was working as a senior financial analyst when I started writing One Moment in Time. I remember I told my boss about the story and I will never forget his exact words. He said, "Wow, that's very creative for you." I remember giving him a look of astonishment, then saying, "What do you mean for me?"

Writing One Moment in Time was both a difficult and rewarding experience. I take a great deal of pride and pleasure reading the reviews of my readers and knowing I wrote a story that made an impact. I've never set out to be the next John Grisham, just to be able to tell a good story that people will remember.
Who are your favorite authors?
I enjoy suspense novels, so my favorite authors are David Baldacci, Brad Thor, and James Grippando. Although each of those authors write with very different characters, each are able to find the right balance of pace, detail, and characters I find myself rooting for.
