Bishop Edward Houston Stephens, Jr. is in a line of five generations of ministers. He possesses a prophetic anointing, innovative insight, and courageous leadership. He is equipped for this church age with a unique gift for reaching people at their point of need. Together with his lovely wife, Elder Beverly, and their three sons, Edward III, Eron, and Evan, Bishop Stephens pastors Golden Gate Cathedral of Memphis. His pastoral ministry began in 1986 with 130 members. Today the membership exceeds 3,000.

Bishop Stephens has received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Crichton Bible College and has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from St. Thomas Christian College. He is also an alumnus of Harvard University’s Leadership Institute. He is a member of several civic organizations including Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. After becoming affiliated with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, he served for two years as the first State Overseer for the state of Tennessee and was consecrated to the office of Bishop in 1996 by Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., International Presiding Bishop. As a member of the Bishop’s Council, as well as the Executive Council, Bishop Stephens serves as the Bishop of the Central Region for the F.G.B.C.F which covers Iowa, Nebraska, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, and Tennessee. Under Bishop Stephens’ leadership, God continues to manifest His magnificent power. Golden Gate presently offers thirty extended ministries including S.T.A.R. Academy, which is the first college preparatory elementary school in the state of Tennessee offering classes for kindergarten through fifth grade. He has received numerous civic, governmental and religious awards including the city of Memphis naming a popular thoroughfare in his honor.

Endeavoring to be a blessing beyond the pulpit, Bishop Stephens published What In Hell Is Holding You Back? and The Promise is Still Good; and most recently recorded Bishop Ed Stephens and Golden Gate Cathedral Choir Live in Memphis One. The vision God has given him continues to unfold through a plethora of outreach ministries, including youth, senior citizens, the homeless, abused women, and health management. He is truly a man after God’s own heart. And the evidence of His uncompromising relationship with God is a testament of hope for the world to see.

Edward Stephens III is a sought after, aspiring scholar, 5th generation preacher, educator, and innovator who seeks to share the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world and eliminate education inequity in public schools. Edward III is a proud alumnus of the historic Fisk University and Vanderbilt University Divinity School in Nashville, Tennessee meriting a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and Masters of Divinity, respectively. In addition, he obtained a certificate in Black Church studies from the Kelly Miller Smith Institute on Black Church Studies. As a means of continuing to sharpen his skills as a biblical scholar, Edward is pursuing his Doctorate of Ministry at Baylor University’s George W. Truett Seminary in Waco, Texas.

Edward III quickly made every effort to put his educational training to use for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Edward III is the eldest son of Bishop Edward and Lady Stephens and currently serves as the Executive Pastor at Golden Gate Cathedral in Memphis, TN and Chief Strategy Officer at S.T.A.R. Academy Charter School. He works diligently to ensure that the ministry is utilizing all that modern technology has to offer to reach the globe with the good news of Jesus Christ while simultaneously cultivating an educational atmosphere that’s conducive to inner city kids being prepared for college entry and completion. Beyond his service to God's Kingdom, Edward is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. Having a keen mind for entrepreneurship, Edward is also the founder and owner of Ed Stephens Enterprises which is the parent company of several LLC’s. Edward serves faithfully as an image consultant to youth and young adults around the country and is able to confidently walk between the cultural norms of various generations with wisdom and understanding. Edward is eager to provide practical truths for everyday life. His powerful and persuasive style has pushed many toward their destiny!

Jessie J. Jennings, III decided at an early age that he wanted to spend his life teaching the wonderful truths of God’s Word and making a difference in his community. As a result of this passion to serve others, Jessie has worked behind the scenes in several areas at Golden Gate Cathedral for over 15 years. In an effort to develop his skills as a communicator, Jessie received a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Cum Laude) in Communications with a Minor in Religion in Society from the University of Memphis. He also attained a Master of Divinity Degree (Magna Cum Laude) from Memphis Theological Seminary. Jessie has received several distinctions including being declared a “Memphis Standout” by the Daily News and has shared the gospel from platforms that reach international audiences such as the F.G.B.C.F. conference, as well as an online presence that has garnered over 80,000 viewers in over 70 countries. As he continues to strive for excellence, Jessie was blessed with the opportunity to release his first book titled, “On You Mark, Get Set, Go!: 9 Ways to Ignite the Winner in You” in the summer of 2012 and has also launched the media firm Connect Now Media LLC to help churches & businesses carry their message to the masses. Jessie currently serves as the Pastor of Communications at Golden Gate Cathedral and firmly believes that, “The God who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it.”
