Gordon De Land grew up in Madison County, Central New York State. Due to his father’s job change, his isolated rural upbringing was interrupted by a year of living in suburb of Seattle in Washington State. The results were eye-opening and the desire for new places and people has never left.
He eventually joined the Navy and saw even more of the world. He helped raise four excellent children while living in Honolulu, San Diego, Chicago, Dallas, as well as ‘back home’ in Central New York State. He presently lives and writes in Chicago.
