A former petrol pump attendant from Surrey, England, Graham Parker has been a rock music legend since the 1970s. He recently reformed his first backing band, the Rumour, recording “Three Chords Good” for release in late 2012. Graham also has a featured role, playing himself, in the Judd Apatow movie “This Is 40.”
First published by St Martin’s Press in 2000, this new edition of Carp Fishing on Valium by rocker Graham Parker now includes “Kernley Days,” an interconnected trilogy of previously unpublished stories. These eccentric tales, placed in the “desolate southern suburbs” of England as well as Morocco, New York, and Cleveland, all feature the Zelig-like protagonist Brian Porker.
