  • Avery Cates: The Sewer Rat on Aug. 29, 2016

Avery Cates has grown old. Avery Cates has grown sloppy. But like any good post-apocalyptic cockroach, Avery Cates is exceedingly difficult to kill. Mr. Somers gives us another peek into the dark future of our favorite assassin-turned-City Lord and anyone that's enjoyed the previous books starting with 2009's The Electric Church up through this year's The Shattered Gears should like this one too. If you've never read any of the Avery Cates series, but you like books such as Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan or Shovel Ready by Adam Sternbergh, then you owe it to yourself to give this series by Jeff Somers a try.
