Helen Leggatt is a freelance writer specialising in travel, e-business and genealogy.
After emigrating to New Zealand from the UK in 2004 Helen was asked to write a regular column for the Malvern News in Canterbury, New Zealand. Called A Brit in the Boonies it took a sideways glance at the process of adapting to a new country, despite the lack of a language barrier.
So popular was the column amongst ex-pats and locals that the San Diego Reader (USA) published five extended versions and the column has now been collated into an ebook of the same name.
A collection of humorous short articles selected from writer and British expat Helen Leggatt’s column in the Malvern News – a local newspaper distributed in rural Canterbury, New Zealand.
The 20 articles reveal how life in New Zealand can be a challenge, despite being viewed as "Little Britain".
