I loved this book. Loved the characters. Loved their relationship. Loved the way it way written (both their points of view). I would highly recommend this book. And the next book is just as fabulous!
  • Amulet 2 on Jan. 10, 2013

I loved this book. I loved Amulet, and then got Amulet 2 as a gift and loved it too. I would highly recommend reading Amulet first so that you understand all references to past events. The author does such an excellent job of telling a complicated story in a way that is easy to read and understand and hard to put down. His characters feel like real people. I really enjoyed this book. It's a satisfying romance, a mystery, and a fantasy all rolled into one. This author has a great imagination. Hope there's an Amulet 3.

I really enjoyed this story. My opinion of this author is that they are very talented, I was hooked right away and loved the main characters. I thought the author did a really good job of adding secondary characters (family and friends) that helped you get to know the main characters better. I thought that the plot showed a lot of creativity by the author. I liked the story so much that before I even finished I looked up the author to try to find more of their work. I was very surprised to see a review by someone who only gave the book 2 stars. I think maybe the other reviewer was expecting a different kind of story. I personally found that the characters seemed realistic to me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and different people like different kinds of books. I don't want to give away spoilers and ruin the book for someone else. I would definitely recommend this book, but warn that if you are very religious, you might be offended by some parts -there are definitely "sex scenes" and it is definitely an adult book, but i found lots of heart-warming parts too. I will look for other work by this author. I would give this book 4.85 out of 5 so I will round by score up to 5.0 :-)

  • West For Love (A Mail Order Romance Novel) (1) (Anna & Thomas) on Feb. 09, 2015

This was a really beautiful story and one I will read again. My favourite romance category is contemporary so don't let the historical/western part scare you off. A good book is a good book. The author is very talented at giving you a full picture of the characters. They seem very real and believable and you are really hoping everything works out for them.
  • The Rozar Park Mystery on March 11, 2016

Really like this author. His writing style makes you want to keep reading. Like a friend telling you an interesting, true story over coffee. His characters are very likeable and it's easy to get invested in their story. A very good mystery. I look forward to the next book (Squadron Inn Mystery).

The second book in the series. I enjoyed it as much as the first. We are given more hints about Chris' past. I really give this author credit - I am personally very different than the characters in these books - yet I really like the stories and want to keep reading them. Looking forward to #3 (Ox Bow Island Adventure). I think it's best to read them in order.

Two more thumbs up from me. I think I know what Chris did in his former career, but not why he is in his current situation. There is mention of 2 more possible mysteries: "counterfeit insurance checks" and "missing construction worker from hospital". I hope they will really be books in the series. I've read all 3 books so far and would love to read more.
