I adored this book, and devoured it in a single sitting. It's a charming collection of memory fragments from Ms. V-Z's nomadic youth, and I found it to be effortlessly heartwarming, funny, surreal and poignant.
If you enjoy this, you should also read THE SECOND BOOK OF PEARL: THE CATS, which is equally charming and funny.
I can't wait for the third installment.
In the second collection of her tales, Pearl returns us to the present, and her surreal misadventures with her two beloved kitties: the scheming and manipulative Liza Bean Bitey; and the lispingly indifferent Dolly Gee Squeakers.
The material is light and funny and bizarre, and as with her first offering (I WAS BORN TO BE A LERT), I consumed it in a single sitting, and laughed a lot.
This is a treat!
