Ion Vladutu, PhD, is a retired Professor, born in Romania (1940). He immigrated to USA, and lives in Florida State, USA. Graduated at Babes-Bolyay University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, taking a degree in Romanian Language and Literature (1965) and in English Language and Literature (1972). In USA, attended post-graduate courses for a PhD in Romance Linguistics ay University of Washington in Seattle, and had different appointments within Department of Modern Labguages at Portland State University, in Portland, Oregon. His main field of reference remains Romance Linguistics, in spite of the fact that fiction, poetry, sociolinguistics and philosophy essays and European Studies have always reflected his extra-curriculum activity and hobby.

Limba romana in exil, ca metafora, este ca si un cantec de lebada al dezradacinarii noastre. Este cantecul romanesc de instrainare al celor care, purtati de vant pe toate meridianele lumii, mai avem in desaga o singura comoara ca sa existam, si o unica speranta ca sa ne mai putem ingadui un ultim cantec - cantecul de lebada al limbii romane in exil.
