Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
When I was a teenager I wrote a column for our county newspaper. I would call each family that lived on our rural route and get updates from them -- where they had been, who had visited them, etc. Then later I started writing Christmas plays for my sister's one room country school. Around 1990 I wrote my first romance novel on an old typewriter. It resides in a box in my filing cabinet. I began writing in earnest several years ago. My first novel, "The Blackmailed Beauty" was published in 2013.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I wanted to write a contemporary romance and was bouncing ideas around in my head. I don't remember why I started thinking about being dyslexic and struggling with everyday things like menus, but it made me think about the hit your self-confidence would take if you were. My daughter was in grad school studying history at the time and my plot just sort of took off from there.
