JA Kruger

The only reason to tell a story is if it is a story that needs to be told.

I am a writer; a story-teller and I have lived for a couple of years now, seen many great things and experienced great moments. I have met many people in my life and in each of these people I have found things that fascinate me. I have been blessed with good friends and not so good friends; intelligent enemies and some unfortunately not so, but I have found that all people deep down share similar fears and hates. All people have things that make them uncomfortable, even if we don't know what those things are.

It is this that has attracted me to writing along with the too many near-death experiences I have had - long story and I promise to get to it sometime. But the near-deaths don't bother me and in fact it is because of these I have cultivated a greater appreciation for life. I enjoy exploring abstract issues such as religion, sex, insanity, drugs and love and in my writing I am inspired by these things and the impact of them on peoples'; lives. I feel drawn to the concept of; "what if?"; moments people experience. Pretty much; I enjoy exploring the darker side of nearly everything.

And while my work might not be for everyone and the stories I tell might make people uncomfortable, I think they need to be told.
Because of this I will tell them...

Smashwords Interview

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
When writing, I can be exactly who I need to be at that moment. I can lose myself and become the character or even the setting. But the greatest pleasure in writing is that I can be as insane as I want to be and call it art
What do your fans mean to you?
When you start knowing more about the people you are writing for, they become a part of the process. Sometimes, they can get so in-your-head that you can hear them asking questions or laughing at things that you are still trying to write down. It feels good to write and know you are writing for someone, but someone who wants to listen no matter what you say.
