Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Actually, I do know. It was "The Elves and the Shoemaker." I used to have a ton of books with records. You'd listen to the record as you read along. I think I listened to this one so much that I memorized the words. I still have the book too!
How do you approach cover design?
I don't. I leave that to some special people - former students of mine. I've been fortunate to work with some very talented students. Luckily, they've been willing to help out. I have some ideas for what I want, and I let my kids do the rest. Freddy Ventura and Isabel Weir are both very talented, and I liked giving them the opportunity to do something so public.
